SD Drainage System comprise the filter layer, the drainage layer, and the separation and protection layer as one integrated unit. The core of the SD Drainage System is a 16 - 26 mm high dimpled plastic sheet to which a filter fabric (non-woven) is bonded.

The drainage system prevents the build-up of hydrostatic pressure on the roof covering system, protects it against mechanical loads and ensures that vapour is able to evaporate freely from the XPS insulation on an inverted roof.
